Privacy Policy

Updated October 5, 2026. This policy describes version 1.0 (build 4) of the AeroSync iOS app, developed by Adhvaith Ananth.

Information stored on your device

AeroSync stores your optional profile, emergency-contact details, saved trips, preferences, and any saved airline watchlist in the app’s local storage. No AeroSync account is required. These details are not uploaded to an AeroSync account database. Device backups may include app data under your Apple backup settings.

Flight and airport requests

When you search or refresh a flight, the flight number is sent to AeroSync’s server hosted by Render and then to AirLabs. Airport-condition requests send airport identifiers to NOAA’s Aviation Weather Center. These requests require network information such as your IP address. The app does not send profile names, emergency contacts, or device coordinates to AeroSync’s flight server.

The flight server keeps short-lived request counters for rate limiting and caches its provider-health result. Its application code does not maintain a user-account or flight-search database. Hosting and data providers may process operational logs and request information under their own policies; local-only profile storage does not mean network requests are anonymous.

Optional location and Apple Maps

With your permission, AeroSync uses location while the app is in use for airport distances and driving estimates. Routing sends your location and destination to Apple Maps. AeroSync’s app code does not persist your location or send it to the flight backend. You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings and continue using manual travel planning.

Notifications and sharing

Pickup reminders and alerts after an in-app flight refresh use local notifications. AeroSync does not currently offer continuous background flight tracking or collect push-notification tokens. If you choose to share a message or PDF travel packet, its contents are sent through the destination you select. Shared flight links include readable trip details in the link itself. Anyone with the link can access those details; treat it as private. Review personal and trip details before sharing.

Optional AI Concierge

The AI Concierge is optional. Before sending a question, you must enable “Allow sending chat messages.” Your question and up to six recent conversation messages are sent to AeroSync’s backend hosted by Render and, when AI is enabled, to OpenAI to generate a reply. Anything you type into a question may be included, so avoid entering passport numbers, payment information, booking references, emergency contacts, or other sensitive information.

“Share selected itinerary” is off by default. If you turn it on, the app also sends your selected trip’s flight number, departure and arrival airport codes, and scheduled departure and arrival times. Your profile, traveler name, emergency contacts, notes, and precise device location are not automatically included in this itinerary payload.

The app keeps the current conversation in memory rather than saving a chat-history file. Use Clear to remove the conversation from the app. Turning off message sharing also clears the conversation. Clearing a conversation does not recall information already transmitted to providers or delete their operational records. The backend application does not save chat messages or replies in a conversation database and requests OpenAI responses with storage disabled (store: false). This does not guarantee that providers retain no data: OpenAI and Render may retain operational, security, or abuse-monitoring records under their policies and applicable service settings.

AeroSync uses short-lived IP-based request counters to limit backend traffic. The app stores its three-query allowance in the device’s Keychain separately from conversation messages. Clearing chat does not reset this allowance, and Keychain records may remain after uninstalling the app. iPhone and iPad allowances are separate.

App lock

If you enable app lock, iOS authenticates you using supported device authentication, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. AeroSync receives the authentication result, not your biometric data or device passcode.

Tracking and third parties

The app does not include advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs and does not sell your information. Public-release stock quotes are not enabled. External links open services governed by their own policies.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, delete saved trips, and control location and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Deleting the app removes its app-container data, but Keychain records such as the concierge allowance may remain. Independently shared files, links, and device backups must be managed separately. You can stop sending chat messages by turning off message sharing or not using AI Concierge. Avoid entering information you do not need for your travel plan.

Questions and changes

Visit AeroSync Support for help or privacy questions. The support tracker is public: do not post personal contact details, booking references, precise locations, credentials, or private travel documents. This policy will be updated when the app’s practices change.
